It's that time of year again
people are cold and hungry,
the less fortunate are looking for places
to get out of the cold, somewhere warm to be.
They freeze in frigid temperatures
their stomachs lie empty and bare,
all they need is some warmth and food
looking for eyes, that will care.
Snow is coming and has fallen
in some places of the world,
but it seems like the forgotten ones
out of our hearts, they've been hurled.
In every city and town across the world
starvation and sickness occurs daily,
sleeping on a concrete pillow
could easily happen to you and me.

I think of those less fortunate than I am and it saddens me to no end. I am thankful for what I have, but I also think, that I don't deserve it.
