My Echo

My Echo

I look at you, my sweet young son.
I see a great echo of my own past.
A life that I have lived, things I've done.
Tears I've cried, the laughter I laughed.
I see the difficult battles you continually fight.
I cry, because I don't know how to comfort.
I would give all, to make everything alright.
To take away all your troubles, pain, the hurt.
I will continue to show my love, you know.
I love you so much you are my best friend.
My sweet little boy, know you are my echo.
I only wish I could make your heartache end.
To take you in my arms at the end of the day.
Just hold you close, so tight, never let you go.
I wish I knew all the right loving words to say.
My dearest little boy know you are my echo.
