Words From the Past

Words from The Past December 1, 2013

In the streets of Glasgow I heard a new song
Was all about Ireland and things that were wrong
The young girl that was singing held her head high
She looked to the heavens with a glint in her eye
She sang songs of Ireland and the team that she loved
With music from the heavens she truly did love
With a voice of an angel she delivered her words
The heroes gone she mentioned them all
She sang about Collins and mentioned Rockall
So lovely to hear, she remembered them all
This angel in Glasgow was sent from above
She sang peace for Ireland with the wings of the dove
She sang about Bobby and the men of ten
When she finished her song they said please sing again
She graced Glasgow streets and left like a flash
She's still in my memory this girl from the past
In the streets of Glasgow I heard a new song
Was all about Ireland and things that were wrong
