Visions

The Coming of the Light

Church bells sounding
far and near
over the snow,
people wishing
Merry Christmas
far and wide,
to friends and all,
wonderful creches
display the Holy birth,
Foolish men of strife
hear the angels sing,
Life and Light shining out
amid the winter's cold!
Hope was born at Christmas.
Hope for the weak, the helpless.
Hope for the oppressed.
Hope for the despairing.
Hope for the hurting.
Arise, shine, for the
Light of the World has come
dispelling the darkness
of this sad world,
heralded by the
star in the East,
The Glory of the Lord
has risen upon us
who sit in darkness,
in the shadow of death
to guide us into
the Way of Peace!
Praise the Lord!
