Taken from life, another martyr in the sky
The planters cause, we still deny
From the Cowgate in Edinburgh town
To death in Dublin by the crown
From Monaghan his parents came
They faced the immigrant shame
Seven years iForgive n the army of hate
He followed bleeding strapped to a chair
Taken from life, they never gave a care
War crimes of the past against Ireland
Murder and death in my land
When Connolly died Ireland cried
