Creature of the Night
Transition from “normal”
The sun now hurts my eyes
The cycle has returned
I’m a creature of the night
My hair grows longer, fangs exposed
My thoughts become carnal
Hungry is my soul for darkness
I’m a creature of the night
The adjustment comes easily
In touch with my inner beast
Escaping into the blackness
I’m a creature of the night
Prowling the moonlit hours
Seeking the energy to survive
Not a phantom, but so very real
I’m a creature of the night
Shift work creates this rhythm
In synch with the moon’s phases
Howling all night in the boiler
I’m a creature of the night
While the world sleeps and dreams
I provide the pulsating power
Electrical currents needed 24/7
I’m a creature of the night
<><><>
I’m about to begin nightshift in the
recovery boiler tonight… 7 nights of
an altered rhythm… providing power
and recycled chemicals. HOWLLL!!!
