A shoot has sprouted out,
From the stump of Jesse;
With a branch of no doubt,
Will bear fruit profusely.
The Spirit of the Lord,
Shall rest upon Him;
The Spirit of the Word,
With the vigor and vim.
The Spirit of advice,
Also has the power;
Understands the price,
Of fruit from the flower.
The Spirit of knowledge,
And the fear of the Lord;
You have to acknowledge,
It cannot be ignored.
He will gladly endure,
The concern of the Lord;
That people become pure,
And live in one accord.
He judges not with eyes,
Or decide with His ear;
He sees through a disguise,
And never deaf to hear.
He judges the poor right,
And makes fair decisions;
For He has the insight,
With truth He envisions.
For He will strike the earth,
With the tip of His tongue;
Show evil its true worth,
With fire from His lung.
Justice will be His belt,
Going around His waist;
Final verdicts be dealt,
Thorough but not in haste.
