Satori
Zen teachers tell of the glimpse within at reality
A moment of presence
A brief stepping out of my identification with my thoughts
For a moment the monkey mind is silenced
The reality of my life shines into my awareness
Creation of a platform within my head
A place of presence and of peace
Once that first glimpse is seen by the true self
Reality is now discerned
I will never be quite the same again
The experience tranquilizes the monkey for an instant
A moment of presence
A moment of peace
A moment in eternity
Always remembered deep within my soul
Maybe temporarily forgotten or pushed aside
Cloaked and veiled by the devious ego
Hiding the reality of the present moment from me
But my soul will always keep close to my heart
That moment of presence
This reality cannot be destroyed
I see the next wave
I ride it to the shore in the rapture of the now
Hanging ten
Boogie man
Alive
Real
Brought to life like the Velveteen Rabbit
A moment of presence
