 CLOSE YOUR EYES
Close your eyes
Type into the glass
What you may think
Right now
Was never meant to last
Each moment will go by
A time to laugh or cry
I'd rather be funning
Gettin' 'er done and
Singing a song
Music all along
The Watch Tower
Hour after Hour
With Jimi Hendrix as my power
Like back in the day
When he was alive
And I would play
His rebel call
The world would fall
At his feet
Because he was fair in his beat
Black Power with a White Lady
The people didn't like it maybe
But Janis Joplin did
She never hid
That she loved him
Put music above him
As artists do
They never seem to get through
The sadness that it takes
To ache the ache
For humanity
To set free
Some Truth
Uncouth
It's okay
Artists are nut's anyway
Still his Fox Lady
Shaking class in a shady
Spot
Down by a lake
Where my heart didn't break
Because Jimi was alive
Into his jive
Now he is gone
While I live on
Will he be there?
In heaven
If I care
About him
Still shout him
From the fingers in my soul
With my eyes closed
They still roll
Back to the day
When natural hair was the way
As long as satin
Blowing in the wind
Never forget you
Jimi Hendrix
A hippie mama's friend.
