 Elsie`s Poetry

We may have fallen and scraped our knee
Or even bumped into something we didn`t see,
A plaster on the knee a lump on the head
Or cut ourselves and we may have bled.

We could have even fractured a bone
We may have even had a gallstone,
They all cause pain but in time they heal
Making us forget the pain that we feel.

But for some wounds there simply is no cure
The pain goes beyond what you can endure,
A wounded heart is locked away inside
It can`t be seen tho` it`s torn open wide.

No plaster or bandage will cure this wound
It constantly feels like it`s been harpooned,
When the heart is hurt the pain is real
It`s like no other pain you will ever feel.

But time never heals the heart with a break
It will always have that constant ache,
The pain may become dull but it will persist
Your memory ensures this it just can`t resist.
