 Sir Ricky's Inspirational Poetry Corner

poetryofadove

Be kind to me so I may live,
Able to hold on to Your Word;
My wrongdoings You may forgive,
As I abide what I have heard.

Uncover my eyes as to see,
All of the miraculous things;
That You have taught as it should be,
In all of the pleasures it brings.

I am a stranger in this land,
A foreigner that has been here;
Knowing Heaven where I should stand,
So then I could be very near.

Do not hide Your commands from me,
Ii wish to openly display;
So my eyes are able to see,
Every time I need to pray.

My soul is overwhelming me,
With endless longings for Your Law,
So I am able to be free,
Of ever getting any flaw.

You threaten arrogant people,
As You are willing to condemn;
For not clinging to the Gospel,
For the unrighteousness in them.

For they have wandered far away,
From Your commandments You have taught;
And in earthly pleasures they stray,
Into the darkness is where they sought.

Remove the insults I endure,
The contempt that falls upon me;
It has been becoming a chore,
For following what you decree.

Even the affluent look down,
As they have plotted against me;
And are treating me as a clown,
While I am on bended knee.

Your instructions are a delight,
Because they are all my best friends;
And the only way to be right,
To go the direction it sends.
