I fell in love with a boy
Who plays video games
Eats pizza rolls and sour gummy worms
A boy who doesn't care about what people think of him
But I am in love with a man
Who kisses me on the forehead
Takes me out to dinner and takes care of me when I'm sick
A man who cared all too much about what I thought about him
In the beginning
But after a year of
Love and fights and fun and tears
I am proud to say that
Love triumphed
Dear God, love finally won the battle
There was no giving up
There were no excuses to leave
And even though our boat may hit
The shallows every now and again
We are an unsinkable ship
And that I believe
Is how I know now
I'm in love with a man
