DOCTORATE DEGREE

I want you to
Get your Doctorate Degree
Write a book about
Poor poor me
Trying to chase the depression
Away
Thinking she's be better off
Dead today.

Wondering why I get so lost
Where there's so much fear
When I've paid the cost
For living
By giving
Myself away
Throughout the days
Of my life
Strong in the strife
When I have to be
Wanting to be set free
To God
Oh, I know how I'm odd.

"He might break going to
Your pity pot
He worked hard to get
What he got
He probably doesn't want
The struggle of another step
When he seems so righteous
Young, perfect
College goals met
He's here to hear the pain you let
Sink into your soul
The poetry you let roll
Out of you like a bowling ball
Making the pins fall
Down the lane".

Depression is insane
So I fight it
I write it
Then remember my
Great Niece
Only three years old
Bold
Singing a song from
FROZEN
"Let it go Let it go Let it go"
She's a part of the children
In me that know
I'm nice
Not cold as ice
Not ready for the grave
My soul God saves to see
The good again
To be a good friend
To be kind
To my depression be
Blind.

Act like it's not there
Smile and do a dance
Take a chance
On this day
Don't throw it all away
On the tears or the headache
Wake! Quake! Forsake!
Your messed up mind
Find
Your own goals
Be not ashamed of
Your flows
As you've surely tried
Cowgirl
Get on your horse
And ride
Away
From this
Depression
Today.
