I am an opaque man
Covered in blank slate pages
I've got no eyes
No ears
No mouth
I'm faceless
People see me like a sculpture
Either perceived as eerie or tranquil
I'm told I don't move very often
Yet, they've never bothered to watch for more than a minute or two
When people leave me
I step off my pedestal
And my skin flips over revealing the written word
There are stories of beauty and dread
Bittersweet poems about my life as a man
There is ink filled plateaus describing depravation
There are angst filled and anxious lamentations
There are articles of dust
Doubt and distrust
Stubborn limitations
All of them dripping ink cascading off the pages
Seeping through the cracks of the floorboards and begging for good questions
For good answers
For good ethics
