I don't speak
And I don't think
They see my eyeballs
Tracing the trails
Of their feet on the carpet
Tracking the tempo
Of the words that
Spit andspin
I count the molecules
Left in the air
Of miscommunication
Words left to gust
Through car windows
Toying with fingerprints
Of hands sliding though
The current of oxygen
On the freeway
And I map routes
Untouched by missteps
And I don't think
They can hear me walk
Crunching leaves
Covering caterpillars
Maybe I hover
But not above,
I am behind
Covers of sweet smellingbooks
Full of sonnets
They are meteors
And I am a woman
With a telescope
Observer and recorder
Of an experience I cannot have
