Someone better

As I'm sitting here thinking of you,
the rain falls down around me.
No one knows,
No one knows how it really is between us.
All the stares and questions go unanswered as we walk by.
Questions we may not have been able to answer ourselves.
As we look into each others eyes,
I forget that we both may not be thinking the same things about our future together.
Then one day you'll find someone better.
I'll be left alone to pick up the pieces of my frail shattered heart.
Everywhere I go,
something will remind me of us.
We were supposed to be together.
I wonder if you think of me as you pass the places we used to go before you became a mystery to me
Before you started seeing someone else and left me standing dazed and confused.
Left with so many unanswered questions and empty promises.
Then one day you'll find someone better.
I'll be left alone to pick up the pieces of my frail shattered heart.
Everywhere I go,
something will remind me of us.
We were supposed to be together.
