Iridescent eyes glare at me
Gleaming bodies overlap
Breathless in a foreign land
I jostle amongst familiar textures
Every so often I feel warmth
On my ice cold skin
But in a few moments
The heat fades
Time goes by slowly
As I look around miserably
The scale of my lover's gill falls upon my eyes
Why was I not chosen?
Why did you leave
Without saying goodbye
Brought to the market against my will
The only purpose left
To be eaten
But I wait alone
The last fish
