Rest my head on your love pillows

As the sun goes down and night comes on,

The stars come out and the moon is full,

I've worked all day an' I've earned my dough,

Time to rest my head on your love pillows.

Hear the nightjars sing, lightning bugs fly by,

The night's so still hardly more than a sigh,

Out here on the porch swinging to and fro,

Time to rest my head on your love pillows.

As the hours tick by and the air turns chill,

I lend you my jacket pull you closer still,

I look in your eyes kiss your button nose

Time to rest my head on your love pillows.
