There is a man
who comforts me
a man who
knows my soul
He reaches out
to give me love
no strings attached,
no toll
A gentle man
who gives his all
to everything
he does
He makes me see
the truth of life,
let go the
past that was.
This thoughtful man
sends me his heart
in letters
sweetly penned
He touches me
in myriad ways
when he shares
where he has been
A spiritual man
who's seen the world
at its worst and
at its best
He takes the time
to understand
keeps his thoughts
close to the vest
There is a man
both hurt and shamed
by those who
know him well
But he trusts in me
and opened up
as though I'd
cast a spell
A humble man
is this man John,
my confidante
and true friend
We share a bond
so real, so true
that I know it
will never end
There is a man
whose name is John
a mid-westerner
much like me
He makes me think,
he shares such love
in his corner
I'll always be!
