ramblings and things

It was the last but one that did it
I remember thinking last night
That last but one pint
Didn't slide down quite right.
Of course I'd had another
And it had gone down a treat
And I'd felt just fine as I'd wandered
Home down that long windy street.
Now it's early in the morning
And I've got a thumping head
And I staggered just a bit
As I rolled from my bed.
It was that last but one drink
And if I've counted right,
And I'm not superstitious, but
It was the thirteenth of the night.
So I think I've solved the problem
And I know just what I'll go
I'll take a break in the middle
And split the night in to two.
Seven pints each session
And that way I think
I'll have solved the problem of
That accursed thirteenth drink.
That last but one pint
Didn't slide down quite right.
It was the last but one that did it
I remember thinking last night.
