Baptized by Your Tears (Her Loving Salvation)

Fallen from love's grace, so fast, so far,
Hitting bottom damn near killed me.
A maelstrom of questions, "Why, what?"
To which there were no easy answers.

But then a stirring, something thereabouts.
No, a someone, walking that same path
So caught up in your own sad pondering
Your downcast gaze finds me lying there.

So ragged and dirty, just another bit of refuse
But you saw me there . . . and you stopped.
You stooped to pick me up from the mire
This one who was so discarded and forgotten.

How could you not turn with utter disgust
From what you held within your hand?
But with the sad tears you had been crying
You cleansed me, baptizing me, you saved me.

You saw me as a shining jewel, one to keep.
And you looked upon me with loving eyes
While tenderly caressing me within your care,
And place me gently in your heart as your own.
