The Dance
I extended my hand to you
You gave yours in return
Smiling into each other's eyes
You stepped into my arms
And so we began the dance
Bodies close, stepping slow
Oblivious to the music
A melody all our own
Pressing ever closer
Into a perfect fit
Lost deep within each other
Transcending time and tide
But our music soon ended
As the band continued to play
And my heart became imprinted
With the memory of our dance
You gave yours in return
Smiling into each other's eyes
You stepped into my arms
And so we began the dance
Bodies close, stepping slow
Oblivious to the music
A melody all our own
Pressing ever closer
Into a perfect fit
Lost deep within each other
Transcending time and tide
But our music soon ended
As the band continued to play
And my heart became imprinted
With the memory of our dance
