They went into hibernation
all Winter long,
there are bulbs all over the place
the plant is still going strong.
I'm glad I didn't have to throw it out
didn't think it would ever bloom back,
looked after it all Winter, I did
but red-orange flowers it did lack.
I've had it since last Summer
watered it, gave it Miracle Grow,
it loves being nurtured, it does
waiting for the first bloom, I wander to and fro.
I have Marigolds sitting in a pot
upon my kitchen table,
I started them over the Winter
waiting to go outside, they are able.
I've missed seeing the Sunpatiens
enjoy touching their velvety petals,
I can't wait for them to finally bloom
but for now, I'll put on the kettle.

The Sunpatiens plant loves the water. I have to keep it watered every two days. If I go three days, it starts to look limp.
