Life moves on. In Memorial to Staci Jo Yager. Born March 21, 1968 deceased August 21 2002.
Staci on the horrible day had allot to live for. Her husband was competing in a triathlon in Canada.
Two beautiful children not yet teens. She had rented a Motorhome for the drive to see her husband
compete. Having never driven a Motorhome the children were with her mother in the car following.
A miracle that saved their young lives. An insane driver committing suicide crossed the road in a late
model Porsche at high speed with gas tank in front hit the motorhome head on. Both vehicles went
up in flames and Staci was killed instantly. In horror her Father in Law riding beside her crawled with
broken leg through a window and with her mother tried to open the car door. She was 34 years old.
The rest of the story. Her daughter is now grown and is graduating this year from college with her son. Both
attended WSU. Go Cougs! My Grandson a freshman and Granddaughter are also Cougs. My Granddaughter
also graduates this year. They are a familly within a family. With boyfriends girlfriends and cousin they
celebrate the time together at college. I wrote this memorial poem to her while standing at the graveside
as her children sent balloons off to the sky for their Mom
To Soar
To seek
Embrace the sky
Alas no wings have I!
Her walk so gentle
Yet aloft
As a baby bird
on its maiden flight
Her voice so soft
A mere whisper in the night
No more beautiful
Woman I must say
That she as beautiful
coming towards
As that day the Lord took her away
Life has moved on and she not forgot. Her children face the world
as she would. They are graduating, for Staci also graduated as a
Wazzu Cougar and her husband is now a teacher and still an athlete
Her brother races in triatholons and is also graduating. Her last days
on earth Staci weekly went to the homeless camps to take care of
the less fortunate than herself with love, clothing and food. Remember
not all the homeless are there because they want to be. They are
extended family. /dandy
