As Older We Age

In the times of old we lived to survive
Depending only on home, hands and heart
Titles we didn't suggest or contrive
For feeling whole or of something we're part
We worked hard and tried as best as we could
In each aspect of our daily work deeds
We reveled when we were told we did good
 And we respectfully accepted  heeds
We may not always be number one, best
But our stamina and ethic prevail
To those who now think We can't pass their test
We're not ready to hear, for them, we fail
We still want to prove, as older We age
We are still a player this our stage
