Poetic Verses

Unless the Proof Is There

Some see themselves as perfect
And believe that none compare
But perfection can be hard to see
Unless the proof is there.

They place themselves on pedestals
And join a lofty throng
Thinking they are peerless to a fault
Too wholesome to do wrong.

But it has to be deflating
When they come to realize
That every man is fallible
Which should be no surprise.

Yes, when subjected to the test
We all will surely fail
Because we just don't measure up
Even on a lesser scale.

So, there are no perfect people
With whom we might compare
And perfection can be hard to see
Unless the proof is there.
