Before my time would come to be
Before her leave took part of me
She was mother I loved dearly
She is my hearts sincerity
Her love would place my soul's being
To live, to love, my life believing
That all good things are what I make
Of passage mine, mine to partake
Her nature stemmed from poor beginnings
Yet lived to be in life more giving
To those in need family and friends
Her soul of Gold which knew no end
She was, still is unique I'm sure
As other moms like yours endured
Raising six children on wages earned
By hands that sewed so we'd would learn
No handouts or grand applause
Came to her being in life because
She came from less but gave much more
Sustaining life, birthed and adored
Hers was alone the task at hand
To fight her way, loving one man
She called husband until his death
Became her world but loved no less
She was a woman mother and friend
She was my mom who'd often lend
More than an ear, more than she could
To those that knew she could and would
It's now five years since my goodbyes
Have all been said and heartfelt sighs
Came knocking on my heart's door
Leaving her presence though with the Lord
I hope you're well mother I miss
Your hug, your scent, treasures, my bliss
Wishing I had more of today
More of you loved, more of my yesterdays
