Then along came Fanny Crosby
A master of the art
The author of such lovely hymns
Each written from her heart.
She truly was a mastermind
Who wrote with such finesse
That anyone could clearly see
Her pious faithfulness.
She wrote "Blessed Assurance"
And "Safe in the Arms of Jesus"
But there are oh so many more
That never fail to please us.
There's the great "Rescue the Perishing"
And "Hide Me, O My Savior"
Those cherished psalms from long ago
Which haven't lost their savor.
So, here's to you, Mrs. Crosby
Your work I so admire
