Parijaatak
Standing besides the front
gate like a guard
The Parijaatak tree is the
pride of our front yard
Showering it's beautiful
flowers all around
White stars scattered
on the dark ground
For decades it has been giving
these fragrant flowers
Every morning we await it's
glorious showers
One of the most auspicious
trees to have in the yard
From all the evil spirits it is
supposed to guard
