'Yes please'

In the still of the night I can feel her

As she stirs by my side in her sleep

Her bare legs cross mine, a twitch

Of her thighs and all I can say is

'Yes please'

A wild combination of wanting

A need to be closer than skin

An awareness of flesh when no

Words need be said for what words

Could suffice for a kiss

A moment of breathless suspension

Both know that the other's awake

Restless fingers approach, there's a lump

In the throat, my God do I love her?

I'll say
