Away up where the wild free Brumbies run
Keeping fire fuels down some in there way..
Beautiful horses how they rightfully roam
That have been there forever and a day..
Sitting on your own among the fragrance
Of the country gums and wild flowers free..
A camp fire nice and hot with coals aglow
And a billy simmering along with nice hot tea..
The birds calling to let you know your welcome
As their calls ring through the valley's high..
And the sun setting slowly over the ridges
As light purples slowly creep closer in the sky..
A silence one can almost hear allowing a mind
Able to actually thing without another sound..
And a distant moonlight becomes a light glow
Spreading your roll bed near fire on the ground..
Your dog turns around several times making sure
His nights sleep will be peaceful as it could be..
It knows by heart all the bush noises there are
A beautiful nights breeze drifts lightly and free..
Your horse tied lightly on a rope line near snorts
All saddles and gear covered for a peaceful night..
Watching coals spout the odd flame now in dance
A fly cover over roll bed protecting all strung tight..
Another beautiful day has drifted ever slowly away
A moment of memories and a smoke within a pipe..
How wonderful high up within the Snowy Mountains
As all around wishes all else a peaceful good night ..
