Circular LifeArtificial leaves attached to a vine up a lamp post entwined Seasonal decor right next door for all to see the unchanging leaves The neighbors admire how they never expire and nod in appreciation of leaf placement location Foolish to feel sorry for some silly autumn decor Can't help but imagine how it does fathom being bent & placed feeling wind in its face but never being able to release from the plastic vine that keeps it in place As it watches real leaves fall to death from trees thinking it's lucky to never die but all the while living a lie Oh to fly to be tossed about the sky uncertain where you'll land cause freedom doesn't plan and make it perfectly just so leaves simply let go Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
