DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY

These are more than just words on a piece of paper
They describe the character of our nations warriors
Who defend our nation and our way of life we live

They have defended this nation and our own citizens
Throughout history in every war or conflict fought
They have been faithful and many have died in wars

Their own character and integrity are the highest
Dedicated to our own country they do their duty
And many have given their own lives to defend us

It is for me personally a way of life that I live
Not only in the war that I fought but everyday too
To serve others not worrying what's in it for me

It's about doing the right thing every single time
Not just when it's safe and might benefit yourself
It's the way we dedicate ourselves to help others

Some say we are just fools for caring for others
That we sacrifice everything for nothing in return
I beg to differ though we do it for your freedom

Some people just can not seem to grasp why we would ever
go and risk our lives and our limbs fighting in wars or
in conflicts without getting any rewards or any monetary
gains for ourselves personally. Well maybe the reasons
are just to simple for them to understand in their lives
but it is because we are the very thin line who defends
and protects their own families and their freedom here
in the United States of America and around the world too.
