Like A SongBy Cynthia L.B. Bogear March 9, 2017 Like a song you played into my life, Playing a tune to my heart. We danced to the lasting melody, Without stopping to take a pause. With your guiding arms around me, We danced across life's floor. We twisted and turned in bliss, Never missing a step to the music. As we continued our song changed, Our flow to the beat began to stumble. One missed step became many others, And twists and turns became clumsy. Elegance and grace was now rigid, Life's floor had become crowded. The beat had been lost in the music, And the steps were forgotten. Like a song you played into my life, Sweeping me away for a moment. Like a song love played out, And like a song it had ended. A graceful dance we had, Never stopping to take a pause. Our memory will play on, Just like a song. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
