Poetic Verses
From the Man I Used to Be
I've traveled a long way down the road
From the man I used to be
But even so, I can't complain
For life's been good to me.
I used to be a night owl
Oft staying out till dawn
But now prefer a nice warm bed
To bright lights and neon.
I used to be a rambler
Who had an urge to roam
But now what seems to thrill me most
Is simply staying home.
I used to be a know-it-all
Who would not be outdone
Believing that I had more sense
Than almost everyone.
I used to be a dreamer
And dreams, I've had a few
But time has made me more than glad
That some did not come true.
Yes, I've traveled a long way down the road
From the man I used to be
But since I'm blessed, and life is good
There's no complaint from me.
From the man I used to be
But even so, I can't complain
For life's been good to me.
I used to be a night owl
Oft staying out till dawn
But now prefer a nice warm bed
To bright lights and neon.
