 Penniluck's legacy

An Irish Lassie

This is dedicated to my eye specialist Miss O`Sullivan, who is only in her thirties but is a professor. She has almost reached the pinacle of her career yet has not lost the common touch. She really cares. Thank you dear.

I know an Irish lassie
Who is lovely as can be.
She gives her days to others
And helps the blind to see.

Somedays she is so tired
Yet still she gives a smile.
Beyond the call of duty
She listens for a while.

She`s gentle and she`s caring
And does not patronise.
For someone still so very young
She is so very wise.

When I tried to thank her
She humbly asked me why,
I said because you listened
I did not want to die.

You understood my feelings
You really gave a damn
You cared about the way I felt
Did everything you can.

So thank you Irish lassie
For showing that you care
Not just doing the job you do
But for really being there.
