Old Rehobeth Church
Dear old old Rehobeth Church
So long have your logs stood
What memories you could unfold
If to speak you only could.
If you could only tell to us
The stories of your past
All that was told inside
About the love of our Christ.
Old Rehobeth Church, can you tell
What our forefathers had to say
Of the faith in which they lived
That would help us today?
Could death, hard times, or fear
Separate them from God's love
Could anything make them falter
As they trusted in the one above?
Were their hearts and faith uplifted
Each time they entered your door
Did they receive a blessing
And then return again for more?
Were they given renewed strength
To face each daily task
What's the whole exciting story
Rehobeth Church, of you we ask?
We know you can not really tell us
So our minds drift into the past
We see the people in service there
And the gospel will always last.
A people for two centuries later
Still worship and sing from your pews
Their praises are for the same God
As we still hear the same GOOD NEWS.
