The Lord is my rock, my fortress in my time of need.
He is my deliver from the hand of Saul.
When I was surrounded by my enemies.
Indeed he was my refuge.
The Lord is my shield and my horn
of salvation. You have delivered me
from the snares of violent people.
I have called upon your name,
oh Lord, for you are worthy to be praised.
Like a wave death swirled around me.
Destruction has overwhelmed me completely.
The grave has completely surrounded me,
and death's snares have confounded me.
