This Is My Day

This Is My Day July 16, 2017

Stay with me till my spirits free,

I'll go to the sky where heroes stay

My last farewell, I cannot speak

I cannot see, my final day

I leave my land of Ireland.

It's my time to die

Another country came

Ireland still asks why

Children of my country forced to die

England invaded what would they do

Death on their streets, if only they knew

No welcome mat for me or you

Attacked at night, no freedom light

English homes burning, no protection in sight

The power regime of the foreign queen

The army kills, you know what I mean

Goodbye my country, they've taken my life

An H Block cell, no smiles just strife

The Irish spirit will always be free

No turning back for my comrades and me

Stay with me till my spirits free

I'll go to the sky where heroes stay
