Defining Moments

Each life has defining moments...
These landmarks upon the earth.
The first one in the life of Christ
Was certainly His Virgin Birth.

The Wedding Feast at Cana
Is still echoing throughout time...
The first of many miracles...
Where He turned Water into Wine.

 The day of His Baptism
Would certainly rank in third...
Where the Spirit rested on Him
And The Father's Voice was heard.

On the Mount of Transfiguration
Radiant Light outlined His frame...
Defining Him as the Son of God
And re-enforcing Peter's claim.

One of His most defining moments
Was His death on Calvary...
Where He paid the Father's price for sin
Where all believers were set free.

One more defining moment...
  His Reserrection from the Dead...
Proving He was whom He said He was...
Confirming everything He said.

Then, next, came His Asscension
His return to The Father's side
Where He waits to hear His Father say,
"Son, It's time, go get your bride!"

 So many more defining moments
Have been recorded in the Gospel...
But these seven are considered
The most inspiring ones to tell.

We all have defining moments...
Where do yours and mine begin?
I prefer mine start not when I was born...
But, rather, when I was Born Again!

~~Dedicated to Janet and Mouse~~

1On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, 2and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine."
4"Woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied. "My hour has not yet come." 5His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."
6Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. 7Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim. 8Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."
They did so, 9and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now." 11What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

Matthew 3:13-17
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. 14 But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”

15 Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.

16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
