The chemicals drift through every lung
A phantom mist
The fluorescent bulbs chatter in secret
A counterfeit sun
The hallways quiver with ferrymen
A Modern Styx

Here is where life and death converge
Faith hangs over the abyss
With a few words the descent begins

The engine stirs with indifference
A silent journey
The bed creaks its usual way
A cruel reminder
The words hang on the lips
A choice is made
