“His Dreams of Her”
He knew she
was out there
on the very
fringe
of his dream
she was always
close by
whenever he
closed his eyes
and he liked
that
about her,
he could feel
the scenes
shifting
abstract colors
getting more
defined
unconnected
pictures
snapping into
a viewable
sequence
as she makes
her way
to the center
of his dream,
she always
comes in
with
a soundtrack
matching her
mood
and disposition
she’s never
quite in focus
to begin with
but he loves
the way
her details
keep getting
sharper
as the dream
rolls along,
he doesn’t know
much about
fashion
so he’s always
amazed by her
form fitting
looks
she brings on
to the stage
the booties
she matches
with her jeans
a look
that is always
blended
and tight
with tops that
are the perfect
accent
to the flow
of her lines
how can a
woman
do nothing but
walk across the
landscape of
his subconscious
and have him
feeling on the
very brink
of losing
all his
self-control,
she just
looks at him
and smiles
she doesn’t
speak
a word
tonight
but he knows
just what she’d
say
if she did,
he finds himself
in front of her
her outfit has
changed
as the music
slowed down
everything
about her
is in such a
heightened
state
right now
it’s like looking
at the sun
her beauty so
radiant
and overpowering
he can’t look
at her for
long
theirs just
too much
for him to
try and take
in,
his mind
tries to shield
him
from the
intenseness
that is her
by moving him
to the far side
of his dream
making his view
of her
smaller
letting his time
with her
linger
just a little
while
longer
he fights back
his desire
as best as
he can
then suddenly
she’s closer
she looks up
out of nowhere
crystal green
in her eyes
he struggles to
break free
from her look
as his world
spins around
her
everything a
blur
but her,
she stands
before him
in a vivid
iridescence
and when she
reaches over
and touches
him
while he is
caught in her
eyes
his whole dream
Explodes
bits of color
all over the
walls
of his
subconscious
his mind goes
quiet
trying to catch
its breath
as his body
falls into a
smile…
