I lift my eyes unto the hills,
From where all of my help comes from;
To cure all my woes and ills,
Comforting me to remain calm.
For my help has come from the Lord,
Who created Heaven and earth;
To whom we are in one accord,
Whence of the time of our birth.
He let’s not our foot be moved,
Knowing us by name not number;
Gives comprehension that behooved,
He who keeps you will not slumber.
He who keeps watch on Israel,
Will neither slumber nor shall sleep;
Protecting them from an ordeal,
Like a shepherd protects His sheep.
For the Lord is our keeper,
He is your shade on your right hand;
Never a slacker or sleeper,
Asking to abide His command.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor shall the moon strike you by night;
Because they will always obey,
Our Lord God who is pure light.
The Lord shall keep you from evil,
He is watching over your life;
And blocking you from the devil,
Who causes you toil and strife.
The Lord will keep your going out,
As well as all your coming in;
For He wants to quench any doubt,
On forgiving you of your sin.
I will lift up my eyes to God,
From whence comes for rendering aid;
I shall praise to honor and laud,
He calms fears not to be afraid.
The Lord preserves as my keeper,
Regardless of where I may go;
Eternal life blocks the reaper,
For onto Heaven I shall flow.
