Things Left To Do

Things Left To Do February 11, 2018

Turn the key, throw the lock away
Freedoms arrived and here to stay
Years of chains and English rule
Many died, life was cruel
No future for our people
Ruled by church and steeple
With a future bright we have no chains
The bad days gone, never again
Children play as children should
No tear,no fear, I knew we could
Some have gone, we remember them all
Things left to do, take down the wall
Stand together proud and tall
No them or us, Ireland's call
A nation again, a nation free
A country united for you and me
Turn the key, throw the lock away
Freedoms arrived and here to stay
