Today was a sad day I have to say
As Rosie left us and went away,
Hamsters only live about 2 years
For the children it always ends in tears.
The vet found a lump which was not good
And would have helped Rosie if she could,
She said it would be kinder to let her go
And this came as a terrible blow.
Three little boys now had to be told
And down their faces the tears rolled,
Their pet was gone and their hearts were broke
As comforting words their Mother spoke.
In the garden they laid her to rest
They said goodbye and were distressed,
They each laid a flower upon her grave
Really I think they were very brave.
They said goodbye in their own little way
And in their heart`s Rosie will forever stay,
They want her back they were heard to say
This certainly was a very sad day.
