We are Who we Are

We know how we feel, what grows deep,
our desires, fear, love, happiness,
we touch the world with grace, and shine
like a candle in the night.

We know what lurks inside of us, we are not
shadows in the fog, we are people of the universe,
trying to be human.

Beauty lies deep, but many can't see, or care to see
the inner diamond, just the beauty radiating from the outer
shell of uncertainty.

If we hide our feelings, no one knows how we feel
we may be laughing on the outside, crying on the
inside, no one knows, no one cares, we shine our
own light for us alone.

We go through life carrying our cross, bearing what comes,
becoming stronger, wiser, aware of our mistakes, playing roles,
facing responsibility, helping create harmony, but no one knows
our dreams, our feelings, but us alone.

We are our own intruders, we live, we die, universe still revolves
were like a speck of dust, disappearing without notice, we are
Children of God, priceless. golden, fresh like the mountain
dew in summer time.
