Jesus Carried the Cross

Jesus carried the cross
He suffered and died
To save us sinners, He was crucified
He had done no wrong, His heart was pure
For us He shed His blood, you can be sure

For God so love the world He gave His son
To sinful men lost and undone
Who so ever will believe in Him now
Their sins are forgiven if to Him they bow

He died on the cross, to set men free
From the chains of sin and misery
Only by His blood, as the sacrifice
Can sinners once again inherit paradise

There is salvation for all today
Who will believe and follow His way
We each have a cross we should bare
Until the day His Kingdom we share
