LOGIC OF A FIVE YEAR OLD

And a special poem from thoughts of my deep thinking five year old.

Why-?

While looking at a toy pirate ship,
with Samuel one time.
We were naming the parts,
of those ships of the line.

The port hole to port,
but what do we call, the other side~?
I could not retort,
so it went un-replied..

So pointing up high,
of the top of the mast
and to him said I,
"This is the Crow's nest".

He sternly said
No Pap that just can't be,
and shaking his head,
"crows belong in a tree".

Changing the subject,
not knowing what to expect,
pointing out front,
said “that's the poop deck”.

This brought out loud laughter,
at my statement so absurd,,
and he yelled oh so loud,
and repeated those words

Thinking about it,
and using his logic,
why would it be forward,
the smell would be tragic.

Then I thought, maybe he's right,
The wind must be blowing
all day and all night
from behind, everyone, knowing.

So now my first mates,
on sail ships we must learn,
why they just didn't place,
the poop decks on the stern.
