There shall come forth a shoot,
From Jesse, out a stem;
A branch that bears a fruit,
Restore who are condemn.
The Spirit of the Lord,
That shall rest upon him;
That cannot be ignored,
Having spiritual vim.
Understanding wisdom,
With the counsel and might;
To revere His Kingdom,
For knowledge and insight.
For His delight shall be,
In the fear of the Lord;
Pure of light that you see,
To be in one accord.
But He shall never judge,
Being seen by His eyes;
Decide without a grudge,
Hear disputes to despise.
But judgment He shall seek,
Righteously on the poor;
Equity for the meek,
Spreading from shore to shore.
For He shall strike the earth,
With the rod of His tongue;
His lips showing true worth,
With the words being flung.
Righteousness as His belt,
In girding up His waist;
Faithfulness will not melt,
Punishing the unchaste.
Wolves shall dwell with the sheep,
The leopard with the goat;
Together they will sleep,
Placidness shall promote.
In that day it shall be,
A sign for the people;
As hostility free,
A life, plain and simple.
