Writing 101
I have studied the greats and celebrated and mourned with each one that I read!
What pleasure to taste their Divine Gift each in their own rhythm, rhyme, and homestead!
I have indeed read writing touched and gifted by the Divine!
What an honor and a privilege I do declare! -
For they could have kept their words secret but instead they chose to share!
Dickinson, Frost, Shakespeare, Angelou, Walker, Hunter to name just a few –
What a pleasure and inspiration indeed to read their works like I did and still do!
Writers who I do believe let their pens take full control
Did not labor in agony for the beauty they shared both had breath, unique style, and flow!
No says I, they wrote from inner wells deep and wide
Overflowing to the brim with genius inside!
God lives and breathes in us when we let him in!
For God makes man who he is and even so gifts him!
So, while studying in a writing 101 class,
They chose to strip down poems both naked and bare –
Much to my horror and deep despair!
Poetry is an Art and a Gift from Above
Each with Unique Style that needs not to be broken down to be loved!
For goodness sake's, who would write such a way? -
Or even want to I say?!
A Gift from above is both filled with joy and love –
It is a pleasure to enjoy, to share, to inspire, and so to say:
How we feel and what we see and why this is and let our hearts have their way!
It is simply put, not meant for mortals to break down like mere bricks in a wall-
My Oh my no, far from it I do believe and call as my witnesses Heavenly stars who watched it all!
This is my humble testimony and to it I stick like yellow on the sun!
Writing simple put at its best is easy and fun!
Enough said and I am done
And this my dear friends is what I learned in Writing 101! –
So throw out the rule book, take to the pen,
Pray to God above and then begin!
